Sunflower Season!

It is almost spring here in the Southern Hemisphere, and the returning signs of life are very welcome. There are lots of lovely magnolias blooming in the parks, the daffodils are all out, and the willow trees are already showing lots of green leaves. We hope you are enjoying spring weather in your corner of the world!

My sunflowers are popping up already, and I have potted up the first batch. I have planted a bulk load this year, as I want to make sunflower teepees - they are so much fun! I also want to be growing flowers which symbolise hope, to remind us that there is so much to live for.

Often we get caught up in the doom and gloom of the world, and politics, and disasters, and many things which are outside of our control. We know that this is not really that good for our mental health! It is very important to focus on things that we can control, and which give us pleasure and joy in life. Sunflowers are so joyful to watch, especially as they grow. Their heads follow the sun throughout the day, as a reminder for us to watch for the light as well. They are very easy to grow, and give months of pleasure in your garden.
